Have you ever been hit with a crisis or matter that caused you to immediately stop your execution of a plan? This happened to me two weeks ago. I was preparing for a workshop and excited about putting the content together. Shortly, I received a call about my Husband being taken to emergency at the hospital. I ended my time of preparation and went to the hospital. My husband was kept at the hospital for observation. Thank God, he returned home by the end of the week. I am grateful for the outcome, but I was faced with the decision to reschedule my workshop or continue with the workshop with less time of preparation. I believe you should assess every situation before making a decision. I was sensitive to the nature of my circumstance. However, There are certain times life roadblocks doesn't mean to stop pursuing our purpose, vision, or goals.

When it comes to living your purpose, vision, or goals, roadblocks will tempt you to stop. What plan, vision, or goal you stopped pursuing because of roadblocks? Roadblocks could be a divorce, unemployment, failure, age, relationship breakup, bankruptcy, closure of business, or the thought that you are not good enough. Whatever it is, I challenge you to not give up. Press forward. Your purpose or vision for your life propels you forward to experience the life you were created to live. I pressed forward by conducting the workshop and my Husband accompanied me.

Perserverance in this situation benefited the participants in the workshops. After the workshop, I received feedback from the participants regarding how they will make changes in their life. The workshop was a tool. My purpose is to empower people with strategies to live their purpose. Your purpose is for you to experience, but for others to benefit from it. This is why it is important to move forward when you are faced with life roadblocks. Someone is in need of your solution to their problem. In addition, you will experience more of your potential while rising above life circumstances.

The following are three ways to move forward with your purpose, vision, or goal:

  1. Minimize negative emotions. Don’t allow negative emotions to be the dominate factor in your life. You must allow peace to be your neutral zone. This is not easy, but possible when you choose peace as the dominate factor over negative emotions. This may take prayer or your personal method of strengthening your spirit.

  2. Stick with the process of seeing your desired result to the end. Your plan may be interrupted with a roadblock, but move forward with the steps necessary to get the results. You may need to change your plan, but don’t give up on the big picture.

  3. Identify how you are the solution. Reflect on your purpose, vision, or goal and identify how you are the solution. Life is about serving others. The more you serve others by solving problems, the more you experience happiness and fulfillment. The life of dread decrease as you continue to be the solution that serve the needs of others.
