Why did it take me 18 months to detox my mind to get clarity of my purpose? My thinking was attached to beliefs that were opposite of who I am in Christ. When God instructed me to “get in my purpose.” This was a call to action for me to renew my mind to the truth of who God created me to be in Christ. I want to share what will help you take action on an idea or vision God gives you.
Why?
Most of the time people will not act on an idea or vision God gives them because they think they are not qualified. Therefore, it’s easier to quit than test the idea. Desire is defined as influencing your will to take action. God gives you desires in the form of ideas, visions, or dreams to take action.
God desire for you to seek him.
First, I want to point out that God wants you to seek him with your whole desire when he gives you an idea, vision, or dream. You were created to depend on God.
2 Chronicles 15:15 (KJV), “And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.”
You increase your awareness of who you are in Christ and experience God’s promises for your life when you seek God. Seeking God includes renewing your mind to the truth of who God created you to be in Christ. It’s important to understand that when God gives you an idea, vision, or dream, it comes with growing which is transformation.
This all about spiritual growth and transformation.
I go into depth on how to enter the process of spiritual growth and transformation at the Desires of the Heart Workshop.
Romans 12:2 (NIV) says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
God is not looking at your limitations when he gives you an idea, vision, or dream. He is looking for you to connect with his thoughts and ways. You connect with God’s thoughts and ways through his word. God’s word separates you from thinking that distorts the truth of who you are in Christ. His word connects you to the truth of who you are in Christ. In John 17:17 (NIV) Jesus said, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." God’s word is connected to your ideas, visions, or dreams.
The following are 3 tips to meditating on who you are in Christ:
Believe God’s word is your truth to live by
See yourself the way God’s see you in his word
Allow God’s thoughts to be your way of thinking from his word
When you meditate on God's word you enter the process of God producing desires from your heart. This is the path of clarity you need to get God's plans for your idea, visions, or dreams. What do you do to get clarity from God? God is your source!
