Having A Mind With Discipline And Self-Control

It is Martin Luther King Jr Day.

I am grateful for his life purpose and mission for civil rights.

Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Whenever men and women straighten their backs up, they are going somewhere, because a man can’t ride your back unless it is bent.”

This quote reminds me that we all have a life purpose.

I interpret the quote as using our minds to straighten our backs up to move forward in our calling.

God gifted us with a sound mind to fulfill our life purpose.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

A sound mind is a mind with discipline and self-control.

A sound mind gives you self-control to engage your life the way God made you to fulfill your purpose.

People or life circumstances cannot ride your back with a sound mind.

God empowered you to fulfill your destiny with discipline and self-control.
