There is a rest God made available to you.
Hebrews 4:9 (NLT) says, "There remains therefore a rest for the people of God."
The rest that comes from God quiets your mind without being agitated.
Do you need this type of rest?
Jesus offered an invitation to enter into his rest.
Matthew 11:28 (NIV) says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
What circumstances are agitating you?
God desires for you to rest in him to overcome any circumstances that agitate your mind.
You discover and experience the desires of your heart when you are resting in God.
I remember being at a breaking point in my life when I was dealing with overwhelming circumstances.
I had no motivation, peace, nor joy.
My motivation, peace, and joy with a quiet mind returned when I rested in God.
Resting in God is believing Him.
God promised the children of Israel a land full of resources to live.
Most of the children of Israel didn't receive God's promise because they didn't rest (believe) in God.
Hebrew 3:19 (AMP) says, "So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest—the promised land] because of unbelief and an unwillingness to trust in God."
Here are four Cs that causes you to NOT rest in God and keep dealing with the same life issues:
1. Complacent: This involves being satisfied with life issues that block desires in your heart. Complacency kills dreams.
2. Comfort Zone: This involves staying connected to people, environments, tasks, or commitments you have outgrown. Comfort zones stunt your growth and potential.
3. Compromise: Commitments that jeopardize the truth of who you are, your values, morals, influence, etc. It causes you to settle for average. Settling creates a mindset of being indifferent about specific areas of your life.
4. Complain: Consistently expressing resentment with murmurs and fault-finding. Complaining expresses bitterness and pain in your mind without gratitude towards God.
Examine if the four C's are keeping you from resting in God.
I pray that you believe God over circumstances that agitate your mind.
Enjoy your day with God!
Love and Blessings,
Tulani
