Do you ever get an urge or push that you should be doing something? It may be to improve a specific area in your life or solve a problem in society.

I remember when one idea pushed me into coordinating a mentoring group.

I knew it was from God, but I wasn’t aware that it was God’s grace leading me into God’s goodwill for me.

One meaning of grace is God’s goodwill.

I began to understand the truth about God’s goodwill when the mentoring group began.

The following are 5 truths about God’s goodwill toward you:

  1. You are chosen to experience God’s goodness. Psalm 65:4 (BSB) states, “Blessed is the one You choose and bring near to dwell in Your courts! We are filled with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple. Jesus made the way to experience God’s goodness.

  2. You are made to do good works.  Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) states, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Good works flow from your purpose, calling, and assignment through your service to people.

  3. You experience God’s goodwill through knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Colossians 1:9 (NIV) states, “…We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.”  The Spirit of God reveals the knowledge of His will to you.

  4. You produce good works by growing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10 (NIV) states, “bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” The Spirit of God reveals the knowledge of God through action on a God-given idea.

  5. God’s divine power gives you the ability to experience God’s goodwill. 2 Peter 1:3 (NIV) states, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” You access God’s divine power through the knowledge of God.

What God-given idea did God put on your heart to do?

It’s God’s grace influencing your heart to show you God’s goodwill for you.

Be well,

Tulani
