Psalm 145:16 (NIV) says, "You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing."
What causes God to open his hand and satisfy you with your heart's desires?
God opens his hand to fulfill your desires when you take delight in him.
Psalm 37:4 (NIV) says, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Trusting God is one way to take delight in God.
One meaning for trust is having confidence and resting the mind on the integrity of God.
What are your desires?
God fulfills your desires through your trust in him.
Trusting God is making committing to allow God full access to your heart.
Psalm 62:8 (KJV) says, “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
The strategy for trusting God is to renew your mind.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
Renewing your mind to scriptures which is God's word, builds you up spiritually and mentally.
The following are ways to identify if you are trusting God to edify your mind:
1. You allow God to instruct you on how to live your life (Psalms 32:8)
2. You receive God’s word as your truth (John 17:17)
3. You allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth (John 16:13)
4. You allow God’s law in your mind through meditation (Joshua 1:8)
5. You put God’s knowledge into action in your daily living while discovering and experiencing the desires in your heart (James 1:22)
I challenge you to think about how can you trust God with your heart?
Your trust in God is one way to delight in God to fulfill your heart's desires.
