God gave everyone a desire to be more.

The desire to be more came when God instructed us "to be" in Genesis 1:28.

Genesis 1:28 (NLT) says, "Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply..."

Fulfilling the desire to be more expands you in God's grace.

Being more includes:

  • Growing spiritually

  • Developing a spiritual mindset

  • Nurturing positive emotions

  • Developing Godly character

  • Advancing in using God-given talents

  • Nurturing positive influence

  • Maturing an image that reflects God's image

  • Solving the world's problems

Circumstances can bend your mind and block the desire to be more.

"Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Whenever men and women straighten their backs up, they are going somewhere, because a man can’t ride your back unless it is bent.”

Several years ago, life circumstances invaded my mind and showed in my physical posture.

My family and I took a picture during my daughter’s high school musical.

I stood with my back bent in the picture while everyone stood tall.

I learned one strategy to keep my mind from bending.

How do you keep your mind from being bent by circumstances?

Self-discipline keeps your mind from being bent by circumstances.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and

timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline."

Self-discipline is a gift from God.

You achieve the desire to be more through self-discipline.

Every day, God’s grace attempts to influence you “to be” more.

What do you believe God's grace is influencing you to be more in?

Circumstances can distract you and cause you to ignore God's attempt to influence you.

Self-discipline is the strategy to be more by God's grace.

Love and Blessings,

Tulani
