Perseverance will propel you forward. You may feel overwhelmed while working on a project, building a business, preparing for a promotion or just wanting to see positive changes in your life. Procrastination may force you to put aside tasks for the day. Whatever your feeling, I want to encourage you to keep moving forward.
Perseverance is one way to win over the state of being overwhelmed and procrastinating.
Madam C J Walker started a business manufacturing and selling hair cream. She came against life challenges that tempted her to quit building her business. She overcame her challenges through perseverance. Her success made her the first African American woman millionaire. Madam CJ Walker said, “Perseverance is my motto.”
Perseverance is a constant effort to achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. It prevents indifference to settle in your mind. Indifference produces an attitude of not caring about how a situation may turn out.
2 Peter 1:5-6 says, "Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,"
Here are 4 ways to build perseverance:
Recommit to the process of pursuing what you desire. Recommit with excitement, passion, and faith. Recommitting to the process is acknowledging that you are not giving up.
Be in the moment. Be in the moment with peace and a positive attitude. Take time to assess what adjustments you need to make. It could be as simple as welcoming gratitude and changing your perspective about the process.
Take action. Take small action steps. You build perseverance when start with small action steps.
Celebrate your wins! Celebrate each time you get results from your actions.
How will you move forward with perseverance? Be well!
