Good Memorial Day!


Whatever your plans are for Memorial Day, God desires you to experience it with peace and truth.


Today is a day to reflect on men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.


These brave men and women deserve a day of honor for sacrificing their lives for us to experience freedom in the United States.


My heart is grateful for their acts of courage.


I also recognize some people may see today as another day or day off from work. Some had the intention to get some rest. Others took a vacation. Some paused to process the grief of a loved one.


Yet, everyone had different intentions, purposes, and plans for Memorial Day Weekend.


We have one thing in common even though we have different plans.


We all have a memory we use to take time and reflect on.


God made our memory to live out God-given desires.


It's God's desire we live in peace and truth.


God is the source of peace and truth.


Keeping your mind on God gives you peace.


Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) says, "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You."


Thinking about God's truth causes you to experience it.


Philippians 4:8 (NLT) says, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."


You are spirit, soul, and body.


Your memory plays a part in how you live out God-given desires in spirit, soul, and body.


Because God is the source of desires that brings peace and truth, your memory helps you connect with God to live in peace and truth.


The desire to know God's nature in your soul creates memories of God.


Isaiah 26:8 (NASB 1995) says, "Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O LORD, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls."


You become familiar with God's character by memory.


Keeping God in your memory helps you remember the truth about God throughout your day.


God is the source of your peace and truth.


Whatever your plans are for Memorial Day or every day, your memory of God will keep you in peace and truth.


You may pray the following prayer:


God, I desire to know more of who You are in my soul. You made me to keep the memory of You. Please show me how to think of You and Your truth every day. I pray that the memory of You is more than any circumstance or distraction. Be magnified in my heart.

I thank You for a memory to reflect on You.
