God promises rest for your spirit, soul, and body.
Hebrews 4:1 (NIV) says, "Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it."
The children of Israel did not enter God's rest because of unbelief.
Hebrews 3:18-19 (NIV) says, "And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief."
Resting in God is to believe in God.
It includes to stop thinking about life issues that agitate our minds.
One day, I noticed my mind was getting agitated as I focused on something beyond my control.
I began to feel mental pressure causing me to feel weak in my stomach.
I went to bed.
The next day, Holy Spirit made me aware that focusing on the issue caused me to experience weakness in my body.
I was focusing on something that was causing fear in my heart.
Jesus said in Luke 21:26 (NKJV), "Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth.."
It's a short way of saying your heart, the core of who you are, gives back to you what you focus on.
There is a solution to give attention to the wrong things.
The solution is to rest in God.
Spiritual growth helps me redirect my focus to rest in God.
Strength returned to my body as I rested in God.
Here are some benefits of resting in God:
Your mind is quiet without anxiety.
You trust God under pressure.
God gives you instructions and guidance.
You focus on what matters.
God takes care of matters beyond your control.
You rest in God when you have more faith in God than in life issues beyond your control.
It's a sign to rest in God when your mind becomes agitated.
Believing in God is doing what is necessary to keep your focus on God.
Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) says, "You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You."
God made your spirit, soul, and body to rest in Him.
Be well.
Love and Blessings,
